Hal's Background

Hal Jacobs was born in Bronx, NY on October 30, 1977. His father and grandfather introduced him to the game at three years old. Since then, his competitive fire and strong work ethic has made him excel each step of his career. In junior golf Hal won numerous peewee tournaments, qualified for local championships and played with the best junior golfers in the country.
Hal had a great college career at Binghamton University, Division II. There, he played on the golf team for four years, was named MVP sophomore and senior year, led the team as captain senior year and won the distinguished Jack Pitler award for outstanding achievement in athletics. In addition, Hal won four individual titles, played in two NCAA National Championships and was the first golfer to earn a sports scholarship.
Since turning professional Hal Jacobs has steadily improved his game. Recently, Hal has shown his ability to play at the top level, firing six under for 3 days to finish sixth in the Florida State Club Pro Championship. Additionally, Hal tied his low professional round last summer at the Crooked Cat course of Orange County National (where US PGA Q-school was held). His round included five birdies, an eagle and two bogeys to record a 67 in the final round of the Florida State Pro-Assistant Championship. Hal has one professional victory (West Palm Beach Pro-Am, December 2000) where he beat PGA Tour pros Brett and Dana Quigley.
